One could speculate that "Red Jr." will merge with the larger. Although current thinking, to my knowledge, is that it will simply pass close to the large red spot and not actually collide with it.

The main interest science has for this new event, along with the common, large red spot, is that we still do not know what causes them, to the point where we can state with authority, that is!

According to Amy Simon-Miller of the Goddard Space Flight Center who has been monitoring the storms using the Hubble Space Telescope, "There won't be a head-on collision," she says. "The Great Red Spot is not going to 'eat' Oval BA or anything like that." But the storms' outer bands will pass quite close to one another—and no one knows exactly what will happen."

(For a change I'll be childish.)

The big red moody monster will eat the little gremlin. Rah!

It might think then, I'm a huge horrific incandescent incarnate of planetary storms, fear me for I devour all in my path!

Time will start running backwards and everything will go in reverse.
After while they will seperate and everything will start going forwards again, that's what has happened the last 6 times anyway.
