Astronomy & Space - June 2006

[Selected]: All categories Science & Mathematics Astronomy & Space

If when we look into the very depths of space (and are therefore looking back in time, to the very beginning of the universe), why are the objects seen (quasers etc) randomly positioned in every direction, and not concentrated in a small area. Would not the big bang have resulted in a concentrated mass of material?

Look at Phil Plait's crap comparison of the different Cydonia pictures.

Phil Plaits's:

And the original Viking picture, which got everyone wondering:

Another straight up and down shot. A lot of those formations line up nicely:

Phil Plait tacks all that crap on there, gives the worst possible angle, and has the blurriest picture possible just so you can't see what the hell is going on. The Viking picture is much better, and gives you a good look of the area where they found the face of Mars.

Phil Plait needs to deflate his big head and grow some hair, because his crappy debunking site is bunk.

I know there is no up or down in space, but is there nothing of interest in directions away from our poles (north, south)? It seems that all our space probes head out away from the equator, so to speak.

It was a minor problem...not simply that that tank had been dropped earlier in the day.
