Einstein believed that space and time were the ingredients to what explains how gravity works. This is better known as " The theory of relativity " Space being 3 dimensional and time being 1 dimensional creates a 4th dimension called " space time" think of space time as the surface of a trampoline. If you stand on a trampoline and put a ball a few inches from your feet the ball will roll towards you. Gravity works the same way with planets, moons ,and stars sitting with in the fabric of space time.
