data is a set of eight binary digits, (eight bits) for example 10111011. A coding scheme called parity can be used to detect errors, however, parity can only detect an odd number of bit errors. Assume that each bit is in error with probability p, and that bit errors are independent. What is the probability that a transmitted byte (8 bits) will contain an undetected error?

I found it crawling around near my computer and so I snapped a picture of it, after I put him on a piece of paper so you can see it better. Sorry about the poor quality - my cam is a cheap one. This thing is pretty small, smaller than a dime.
Will these things attack me while I am sleeping and do they usually hang out in large herds? Or is this one a lone wolf?
What should I do with it. It seems to be sleeping right now.

Olive Math is standing on the 102nd floor of the Empire State building, thinking about mathamatics. She realizes that, if she were able to throw a ball from her present position, the height of the ball in feet, h, at time t seconds could be modeled by the equation
h = -16t^2 + 64t + 1224.

How high above the ground is the 102nd floor?
What is the greatest height that ball would reach?
How long would it take to reach that height?
How long would it take the ball to hit the ground?

Please help?? PLease just help me get started, im just really confused.

if x=1 the answer is 1/6

Ok where did the very first living organism ever come from? Do you believe in evolution which states that the first living organism ever. The first simple single-cell organism that appeared billions of years ago...where did the very first living thing ever come from? Did it literally "evolve" from nothing? To me that is one of the biggest downfalls of evolution. How can you say that something "evolved from nothing? The very first living thing ever in the history of time had to come from somewhere. And I don't buy that it came from nothing.
