I need to understand how to figure this out myself. Please and thank you. Oh, and I give good points, so please help me. :)

"Problem 1": A, B, and C are points on a line with AB = 8.4 inches and BC = 2.9 inches. What is the length of AC if: B is between A and C?

5: For the segment in Problem 1, which equation expresses the relationship of AC to AB and BC?
AC = AB - BC

AC = BC - AB

AC = AB + BC

From da fig u can clearly see that AC=AB+ BC
AB=8.4 , BC=2.9 ,
AB + BC = 8.4 + 2.9 = 11.3

So AC = AB + BC expresses the relationship of AC to AB and BC very well.

Hope this was enough!!

Inches eh?

Distance AC = AB+BC = 8.4 + 2.9 =11.3"

Relationship given above

Draw it on a line:

A------------B--------------C
(since we know B is between A and C)

AB = 8.4
BC = 2.9
B is between A and C so:
AC = AB + BC (The answer to question 2!)

AC = 8.4 + 2.9 = 11.3 As required

Hope this helps!

the first answer is 8.4 + 2.9 which equals 11.3

the second is ac=ab + bc

i stumbled on a manner that is composed of the exterior perspective theorem of a triangle, the certainty that there are one hundred eighty tiers in a immediately line, and making use of a matrix to resolve 4 equations with 4 unknowns. here it fairly is: a million. boost BD previous the triangle and phone the hot endpoint G. Repeat with CE; call the hot endpoint H. 2. perspective (<) ADG = 40 tiers
