a) 5 = 5^(2x/2)
: 5 = 5^x
x = 1

b)2^3 = 2^(2x/3)

3 = 2x/3
x = 9/2

c) 3^(2y/5) = 3^3

so 2y/5 = 3
y = 15/2

d) 2^(-1) = 2^(a/3)
-1 = a/3
a = -3

e) 2^(2x/4) = 2^-3

2x/4 = -3
x = -6

b)8 = 2^x/3
2^3 = 2^(x/3)
x/3 = 3 [Since bases are =, exponents are =]
x = 9

c) 9^(y/5) = 27
3 ^(2y/5) = 3^3
2y/5 = 3
2y= 15
y = 7.5

d) 2^-1 = 2^(a/3)
a/3 = -1
a = -3

e) 2^(x/2) = 2^-3
x/2 = -3
x = -6
