I'm not sure...there are arguements on both sides. However I find it strange that the Russians were first into space in Oct '57 and in just 12 years the Americans supposedly flew to the moon and back. An incedible achievement if its true.

There was a huge political gain at the time to be made upon being the first there, so even if they didn't its probably the most incredible piece to Western propergana ever to have been staged. Again an incedible achievment

I'm just not sure either way....

Many people observed the Atlas-Centaur fuel dump 12/10/07. From my location farther north than most observations it was in Perseus near the expected position of Comet Holmes. West-southwest at about 50 degrees elevation. Looking for other estimates of direction and height above the horizon. I'd like to try and calculate the actual position and altitude. Time and constellation in the background would be interesting but not necessary for this estimate. Best guess. Thanks to all.

Hey everyone I need your help. I was assigned a physics ISU and am wanting to build a guitar. I currently own an accoustic so I know the principles. I am wishing to build another accoustic for the project but I also want to play it (so no rubber band guitars). Where can I find plans (besides google) to build it (Im on a budget so I can't spend a lot)?

Can someone check my answers please.

The formula for calculating the amount of money returned for an initial deposit into a bank account or CD (certificate of deposit) is given by

A=P(a+r/n)^nt

A is the amount of the return.
P is the principal amount initially deposited.
r is the annual interest rate (expressed as a decimal).
n is the number of compound periods in one year.
t is the number of years.

Carry all calculations to six decimals on each intermediate step, then round the final answer to the nearest cent.

Suppose you deposit $4,000 for 8 years at a rate of 7%.

Calculate the return (A) if the bank compounds annually (n = 1). Round your answer to the hundredth's place.

P=4000
r=.07
t=8
n=1
A= ?

A=(4000)(1+.07/1)^(1)(8)
A=(4000)(1.07)^8
A=(4000)(1.71818)
A=$6,872.72
