not so religiously put, but collective power of thoughts.

yeah, i know - some of you are convinced "The human brain and the thoughts it creates are contained within the skull. The brain neither transmits nor receives information." [recent quote from a classic]

still... recent south-korean collective prayers for releasing the hostages, strange stories about korean or vietnames gathered in circles and american planes smitten with no apparent malfunctions during those wars, safe landings of space shuttles etc. etc. etc.

is it THAT crazy?

People have always thought me so weird because I believe any animal in any sort of enclosure is cruel.

Especially birds in cages because they have wings to fly don't they?

I believe zoos are totally out of order. I can't stand the idea of people going to a zoo to stare at animals. They should be free in the wild, away from any human interference.

I do understand the importance of endangered species but that is because of hunting etc.

They should aim to put a stop to that first rather than going round capturing animlas and locking them up for other peoples pleasure.

Does anyone else agree?

I've been trying this all night. Can someone please help?
Two particles of masses M1=63000kg and M2=7200kg are initially at rest an infinite distance apart. As a result of the gravitational force the two masses move towards each other. Calculate the speed of M1 when their separation distance is 41.3km.

I've tried using conservation of potential energy, but I get stuck. Can anyone please help?

Imagine that you live in a world where oil has run out. There will be no oil, diesel or petrol. Describe your day. Make it as similar to today as possible. What would have to be different? What do you think will be the substitutes for those things that today need oil and petrol?

Please answer in a narrative form, with as much factual info as possible!
