Ms. Andrew ask her class groups to make posters for the bulletin board. She told them to draw, color, or past 42 stars on each poster board. The only rule was that the stars had to be in equal groups and the number of starss in each group had a to be prime. How many groups of stars might be on the poster, and how many stars are in each group?

Yn is the position at time n of a particle executing a simple random walk with partially reflecting barriers at 0 and a so that P{Yn = y +1|Yn-1 = y}= p for y = 0, 1, 2, ..,.a-1, and
P(Yn = y-1| Yn-1 = y) = q = 1- p for y 1, 2, .., .a-1, a..
Also P( Yn= a | Yn-1= a) = p and P( Yn= 0 | Yn-1= 0) = q

If П = [П0, П1, П2, . . . . Пa ] is defined to be the stationary distribution for this process

П_i=pП_(i-1)+ qП_(i+1) for i=1,2,….a-1

Show that
П_1= ((p/q)*)П_0 ,П_2=((p/q)^2)*П_0 and in general П_a=((p/q)^a)*П_0

This might sound stupid for some of you but ... some say that evolution is real and some otherwise ... anyways I'm wondering why did evolution stopped(if it ever existed) . I mean it did ... any difference between like 4000 years ago and now ? The only one i can see is techonologicaly improvement as well as increased knowledge amongst us. So I'm pretty sure that evolution does exists but I'm way to young and uninformed to confirm that.

7. Some guy named Jim has come up with a scheme for eliminating coins. This scheme involves probability and the fact that most cash registers today are computers. Suppose that every cash register could be programmed with a random number generator; that is, suppose that it were possible to pick a random number from 1 to 99. Jim's system works as follows. Suppose you purchase items totaling $15.89. The computer would choose a number from 1 to 99 and then compare it with the cents portion of the purchase. In this case, if the random number is between 1 and 89 the price would be rounded up to $16; if it is between 90 and 99 the price would be rounded down to $15. For example, if you purchase a cup of coffee for $1.20, and the random number generator produces a random number from 1 to 20, the price is $2, but if it produces a number from 21 to 99 the price is $1. Use your problem solving skills to make several comments on this scheme.

With all this talk of water once being on Mars, I've recently being wondering where the free radical oxygen(s) to form it came from in the first place,
Maybe I'm wrong but I always though oxygen was so reactive the only way for it to exist in any real quantity was to be continually produced, e.g photosynthesis.
So if water existed on Mars there must have been a substantial amount of oxygen in free radical form, where could it have originated from?

Please correct me if my logic is flawed.

I am a freshman in sophomore honors biology. My teacher is really hard and he gives these insane essay questions for us to do. I normally get them but this time i cant figure it out. "Why did the echinoderms give rise to chordates as apposed to arthropods or any other phylum." I think it is because echinoderms have an internal skeleton and their embryological development patters are deuterosomal. If someone could critique me and add some more reasons would be really great.
