f(x,y)= e^(-x^2)(y^2+1)

i got fx= =2xe^(-x^2)(y^2+1)

Find two values (c) lying on (-2,2) that satisfy the conclusion of MVT (i.e. x = 0)

My answer:
f'(x)= -8x^3+7x
f(-2) = -30
f(2) = -18

so, -18 - (-30) = -8x^3+7x(2 - (-2))
-48 = -32x^3+28x

But I only get one zero and I think I messed up in the equation somewhere. Please advise :)

It's a question I have for math homework. I have to solve inequalities, but instead of giving the last number, they give clues, and you have to figure out the answer and then substitute it for the number.

ex. 5n-46> the number of stars on the U.S flag in 1945.

I have a few more, but for right now, I only need this one.
PLEASE HELP!

Hi All

This year we seem, here in SW Ireland, to have been plagued by loads more flies than usual. Flies of all types, large and small! But a lot of them left patches of black speckles on things (lampshades, windowsills, floor, ceiling, you name it!). I take it this is them sicking up; anyone have any knowledge of this phenomena? Is it some kind of regurgitation? Or is it faeces. It's really tarry, if it dries hard is difficult to get off.

I'd love some proper David Attenborough info on this!

Thanks in advance.

As every schoolgirl/boy knows, fusion within stars results in the formation of helium from hydrogen. Does this mean, then, that evenually the amount of hydrogen in the universe will be insufficient to enable the creation of new stars? Or, are there some processes going on in the universe that result the creation of new hydrogen to replace the hydrogen used up in star fusion?

A 15 g bullet traveling horizontally at 865 m/s passes through a tank containing 13.5 kg of water and emerges with a speed of 534 m/s. What is the maximum temperature increase that the water could have as a result of this event?

All that I could think of is using the Quantity of heat equation of course ( Q=mc(change in)T). I have no idea what temperatures to start out with and how to use the velocity. Thanks for any inputs!
