I am not sure how to do empitical formulas...
Here is an example: natural magnets (Iodestones) are found to consist of iron and oxygen. If a 5.678-gram sample contains 4.111 grams of iron, what is the empitical formula of this compound?

THe gemstone zircon is composed of zirconium, silicon, and oxygen. If a sample is found to have 49.8% zirconium, 15.3% silicon, and the reaminder oxygen, what is the empirical formula of zircon?

The narcotic drug morphine has the following percent composition: 71.50%carbon, 6.71% hydrogen, 4.91% nitrogen, and 16.82% oxygen. if the molar mass of the morphine is 285.4g/mol, what are the empirical formulas of morphine?

I have a lot more but just some hints on how to do this would be appreciated...

I've recently started a course in radiography although my initial choice was to study nursing. However through mere chance i got onto radiography. I feel now that radiography is the right course to study as its very interesting. More interesting then nursing, although more difficult - but i still wonder if nursing is better.
I know i should decide what course is right for me personally but i just want to know other peoples opinions. If you had the choice what career from the two would you go for and why? which do you think has better future prospects?

2 questions ...

1. does sperm cells carry both xx or xy chromosomes or only x or y?

i think it is either x or y.

2. do each testicle(human) produce either x or y chromosome sperm or do they both produce both x and y?

cause then you could just get a vasectomy on one testical, or extract sperm from the testicle with the sex you want for artificial insemination and get the child sex you wish for.

thanks for responding
