Everything's so flashy.

Like I saw Venus this evening and could compare it to an airplane which was pointing it's headlights not quite in my direction. It was way brighter than Venus, maybe -9 or something, who knows, and yellower. So if they ever had a supernova then it might look like that.
Venus is more comparable to one of the numerous bulbs they put on skyscrapers than the brightest planet.

Does it look better in the country?

My friend had: 3.1415926535897932384626433832795028841971 written down on a piece of paper and I asked him what it was. I felt really dumb when he told me it was Pi and I was completely and utterly embarrassed. I'm a smart girl, but math has never been a strong suit of mine. My question is how many of you know what 3.1415926535897932384626433832795028841971 is without having to google or look it up? When you looked at the number did automatically know that it was Pi? Basically I am trying to see if I am alone here. Anyone else on this boat with me?
And if you know Pi what grade were you in when you learned it?

Thanks everyone, hopefully I will feel better soon.

I don't understand how to find the answer to a distance formula with a variable(s)

NOTE:
d (distance)
_/ (used as sign for square root of)

DISTANCE FORMULA
d = _/(x1 - x2)^2 + (y1 - y2)^2

I need to find the distance between the following points...
(0, a) and (b, 0)

How do I set this up?
