The exponent "2" tells us to mutiply the base by itself for a total of two times. So 0^2 = 0 * 0. And that would be zero, because anything times zero is zero.

You might be confusing this with the fact that anything raised to the zero power is 1. Except for 0^0, which is defined as "indetermined".

it's 0. When you multiply 0x0 you get 0. It's very simple but everyone forgets things once in a while.
