I've seen people swimming in lakes in May and June when the water is in the 50's or low 60's. And they don't seem to feel the cold!

Q. What amount of force must be applied by the elbow flexors inserting at an average perpendicular distance of 0.015m from the axis of rotation at the elbow over a period of 0.3seconds to stop the motion of the 3.5kg lower arm swinging downwards with an angular velocity of 5.0rad/s when the radius pf gyration for the lower arm is 0.20m? Prove by calculating.

Possible solutions:
1) T = F * d and F = ma, for a use g (9.81m/s/s)
2) T = F * d, and F = ma, for a use 5rad/s / 0.3s
3) T.t = Δ I ω and I = mr²

Which one is correct?! Thanks.

I have data which shows the incidences of a health condition as a % of the population. Can these % measures be used for t-testing?
I cannot use the actual number of incidences as the population size is growing.

This is a problem in my textbook:
Consider the reaction W + 3Y = 2N + 4Z
A solution was prepared by mixing 100.0 mL of 8.04 x 10^-3 M W and 200.0 mL of 4.63 x 10^-3 M Y. After the system had come to equilibrium, the absorbance, A, of the solution was measured at a wavelength (600nm) where only Z absorbs light. The value of A (absorbance) was found to be 0.422.

The following data were also collected for known solutions of pure Z at 600nm:
[Z]-------------------A (absorbance)
2.00x10^-4---------0.100
5.00x10^-4---------0.240
8.00x10^-4---------0.390
18.0x10^-4---------0.880

I just don't know where to start with this one. Not even sure I understand what it's asking me to do! Thanks for the help.

There was a zoologist walking down the street with a baboon.

They meet another zoologist, who says, "Hey, what are you doing with that ape?"

The first zoologist says, "Excuse me, a baboon is not an ape - he's actually a type of old world monkey."

The second one says, "Yes I know that, but I wasn't talking to you."

I was going to try this joke on "religion and spirituality", but I reckon they would have had my Yahoo! account deleted.

Hello well today (Witch was a lovely day thanks for asking) i was assigned a math problem that read like this.

heres a 1,2,3 box with no top what is the surface area? I think its 16ft2 but i could be wrong.

Then it gives me a cylinder that is radius of 1 and height of 2 what is the surface area of this? i think its 18.84 sqft

But now the big qu is how does the surface area of the 1,2,3 box compare with the surface area of the cube?

Any helpers?
