We are having some serious problems with the deer. They can't seem to stay very far away from our home. The neighbors and people in surrounding areas have had the same problem. During the last deer hunting season we have had to call the sheriffs department and the DNR to report people who where shooting at the deer but towards our house. The problem for the hunters is: The deer will not go away from the houses. A conservation officer has informed me that several cougars have been spotted in neighboring counties. Could this be why the Deer seem to want to stay within 100 yards of a house? It seems to happen more at night. I guess in a way its good sense more and more illegal hunting has been exposed. I lived here all my life and this is the first time I have ever seen anything like this! And alot of deer have been killed from being hit by cars. According to the DNR the deer population has not increased! Cougars have not been in central Indiana for nearly 200 years!

You remember those "Sea Monkey" adds in the back of comic books, that you could order and they came in a package and then you threw them in water and they would swim around? In the add they looked like Sea Horses. I've never actually seen one but wondered what they are and do they really look like a sea horse?

If most of the stars in the universe, or at least our galaxy are red dwarfs, much cooler than our sun, could life evolve on a planet with a red dwarf as its sun? Also, would Arnold Rimmer be there, quoting Space Corps directives? (Sorry, couldn't resist a little humor. For those scientists unfamiliar, "Red Dwarf" is a BBC2 comedy).

You may find drawing diagrams and labelling them with your ides it is helpful.
Try to include as much info about particles and energy in your explanation.
Think about the particles inside the ice cube: how are they arranged? What happens to them as the ice melts? Why does this happen?

Scientists performed an experiment to determine whether there is a connection between learning ability and food. They took two groups of 20 mice each, all from the same purebred strain. The mice were deprived of food for 3 days and then given a standard learning session in running through a maze. They were trained by giving them a mild electric shock whenever they took a wrong turn. Immediately after each learning session, one group of mice was fed, but the other was not, A week later, all of the mice were tested to see whether they could still run the maze correctly. The group that had been fed had retained this ability, but the other group had not. The probable reason that the scientists used only mice from the same pure-bred strain is so that?

Question 14 (Multiple Choice Worth 1 points)

Which of these statements is NOT true?

An organism that has been affected by a chromosomal mutation and lives to maturity is often sterile.

Asbestos is not considered a chemical mutagen responsible for chromosomal mutations.

While chromosomal mutations occur in all living organisms, scientists see them most commonly in plants rather than animals.

The reason that chromosomal mutations usually do not get passed along to future generation is that an affected zygote usually dies.

Thank You!
