i only want to lower the ocean by about 200 feet that would free up alot of land...It would solve so many problems... earth over population, icecaps meltingsand flooding the earth, beach overcrowding, florida sinking, hurricanes in new orleans, venice sinking, plus i will claim all the new beach front property as my own, and put a toll booth on the new alaskan land bridge to russia! i'll pay off my super pump and be rich! comments?? you can leave give one reason its a bad idea for every two reasons its a great idea. AND Mass changes don't effect motion of free falling object ie: orbit of the earth! p.s. props to anyone who can come up with a way to fix the negative problems people come up with to bust the idea and future sponsering of my idea...

1.Given two nonsingular matrices A, B elements of Mn(R), show that

A^-1 – (A+B)^-1 = A^-1 (A^-1+ B^-1)^-1 A^-1

5. Definition. Let C element of Mn(R). C is said to be symmetric iff A=Atranspose. Given symmetric matrices A,B elements of Msubscript2(R), show that AB is also symmetric iff A,B commute with each other e.i. AB=BA.

6. If c is an associated eigenvalue of A element of Mn(R), show that c^k is an associated eigenvalue of A^k for some k element of N.

7. If A element of Mn(R) is a nilpotent matrix, show that the only eigenvalue of A is zero.

8. Let A, B elements of Mn(R) such that Ax=cx and Bx=bx. Show that

i.(A+B)x = (c+b)x
ii.(AB)x = (cb)x

Whenever I'm in a plane, it baffles me how a crash can claim all the passengers on board in the event of a crash. I'm talking about the commerical jets. I know planes travel at fast fast speeds, but what actually kills the person first on impact? Surely not all planes are crushed like a tin can... therefore, many times certain areas of the plane are still intact. If any of you are experts in physics, or have any other knowledge... I'd like to know why most people don't usually survive plane crashes.

For example, September 11th: What do you think killed the people when it crashed into the World Trade Center? The impact of the plane alone when it crashed into the building, or the fire?

3. Definition. An eigenvalue of a matrix A element of Mn(R) is a scalar c such that given a linear transformation f: XY where X and Y are vector spaces over a field F with X=Y, f(x)=cx, x element of X; or alternatively, Ax=cx, and x is called the eigenvector associated with the eigenvalue c. Prove the ff:

i.c=0 is an eigenvalue of A iff A is singular.
ii.If c is an eigenvalue of A, then c^-1 is an eigenvalue of A^-1. Hence, all eigenvalues of A^-1 are the reciprocals of the eigenvalues of A.
iii.If c is an eigenvalue of A, then c is also an eigenvalue of Atranspose.

9. Given A element of Mn(R)

i.Show that det(A) is the product of all the roots of the characteristics polynomial of A.
ii.Show that tr(A) is the sum of the eigenvalues of A.

A neutrom has mass, it has a dimension, therefore it must have a surface. What color would a neutron surface have? A large number of neutrons make a neutron star. How would that surface look to an observer? What color would the nutron star have? Does the word color have any meaning in subatomic physics?

I was thinking about Alzheimer patients and memory loss. For a neuron to fire in the brain a calcium ion has land in a gateway channel at the base of the axon. The calcium atom must be ionic. A neutral diatomic calcium molecule (I think) wouldn't work.

I've always thought that calcium was a pretty important component of good memory based on the above. (I wonder if a lack of calcium in the brain triggers osteoporosis.)

What I was really thinking about is what is the makeup of the "plaque" that forms around neurons, which is thought to be the cause of alzheimer's. Is the plaque caused by a lack of what ever keeps atoms from forming diatomic bonds? Are normally ionic atoms forming harmful molecules that clump around the neuron?
