Studies indicate that the biomass for tropical woodlands, thought to be about 35kg per kg/m^2 may in fact be too high and that tropical biomass values vary regionally from about 5-55kg/m^2. Suppose you measure the tropical biomass in 400 randomly selected square meter plots.

A. Approximate the standard deviation of the biomass measurements.

B. What is the probablility that your sample average is within 2 units of the true average tropical biomass?

C. If your sample average is equal to 31.75, what would you conclude about the overestimation that concerns the scientists?

The answers are:

A. Approx. 12.5
B. .9986
C. They are probably correct.

How does one obtain those answers? Can someone explain it to me please?

Thank you,

Sue

okay okay. im not really asking this because i miss it and i want to start getting high off it again. (i can get other drugs for that and im staying sober since im in the middle of a possible teen preg scare anyways) im being honest when i say im just really curious at to why. i took adderall xr 20 mg once a day for a month or two and then got switched to the regular adderall 20mg (take one as needed). ive had it for about a month and take 20mg a day (it doesnt seem to help me concentrate or anything like the xr did, but the appetite supressant is twice as powerful and thats why i love it). if i get sick (i dont take pills when sick) or forget to take it then i pick a day im going be partying or having fun and take my regular dose and the extra one for a little rush. but lately when i do that i dont feel anything. i rose it up to 70mg one night as a experiment but still nothing. does anyone know whats going on? what r the changes in the body that make it happen? im srsly curious! lol

I'm given two pressure levels of the atmosphere and told that the air between them is cooling due to radiation at a rate that would be sufficient to cool the layer 1 degree C / day. I am then asked to figure out how many mm/day of rain must fall if the only heat source to this layer is the net condensation of liquid water.

Note: I'm not looking necessarily for a solution. Just a little guidance. :) Thanks!
