How do you simplify:
3^0 + 3^1 + 3^2 + ... + 3^(n-1)

For example:
2^0 + 2^1 + 2^2 + ... + 2^n-1 = (2^n) - 1

I think you meant 3^0 + 3^1 + 3^2 + ... + 3^(n-1)
Note the parenthese.
It reduces to (3^n - 1) / 2

a^0 + a^1 + a^2 + ... + a^(n-1) reduces to (a^n - 1) / (a - 1)
