okay okay. im not really asking this because i miss it and i want to start getting high off it again. (i can get other drugs for that and im staying sober since im in the middle of a possible teen preg scare anyways) im being honest when i say im just really curious at to why. i took adderall xr 20 mg once a day for a month or two and then got switched to the regular adderall 20mg (take one as needed). ive had it for about a month and take 20mg a day (it doesnt seem to help me concentrate or anything like the xr did, but the appetite supressant is twice as powerful and thats why i love it). if i get sick (i dont take pills when sick) or forget to take it then i pick a day im going be partying or having fun and take my regular dose and the extra one for a little rush. but lately when i do that i dont feel anything. i rose it up to 70mg one night as a experiment but still nothing. does anyone know whats going on? what r the changes in the body that make it happen? im srsly curious! lol

its because your body can only absorb so much before it rejects the rest so increasing dosage will do nothing

1. as to the concentration The reason is the change in drugs. Yes it is the same drug, but the XR(extended release) is just that. It is a timed release so your body is getting smaller doses at regular intervals. The regular tablet is giving you the full dose in approx 45 mins after you take it, then it only gets weaker. You have a RX for as needed and you can speak to your doc about adding a dose in the evening.
2. You are building up a tolerance to the side effects of the meds, but also you're just getting used to it. It may be that you actually feel a high all the time but you don't notice it as much because you haven't come down. That's kind of the way those types of drugs work.

I take Adderall 20mg XR each morning, around 8 am. On days when I need to study, or have more to do than usual, I take adderall 10mg in the afternoon around 3 pm, in addition to the 20mg in the morning. My doctor recommended after I told him that I was having the same problem that you are having. However, you should not take the 10mg without contacting your doctor first. I also know what you are talking about with the medicine not being as effective. I think that you are just becoming more accustom to the effects of the medicine. That is what it was in my case, but you should still talk to your doctor about it!

one of the dangers of continuously taking drugs is that your body will adapt and become accustomed to it, by that point you should realize that there's a problem and you need to get off the addiction.

your body has built up a tolerance for the medication and that medication is very addictive and can be harmful for non add patients. please talk to your doctor or especially stop taking it if you feel that you might be pregnant. it can be harmful to the fetus.
