I'm in 7th grade (12 yrs old), and I like going above and beyond. So, I got this book, and I went to the graphing section. I know the formula is y=mx+b, but what does each mean?

I already know point to point (change in y over change in x).

Ok, I have this Math problem and I need you to help me answer it.

Q: In a week, Peter gets twice as much pocket money as John, and George gets $3 less than Peter. Altogether the three boys get $17.

If John gets $x a week:

(a) Write down in terms of x
i) How much Peter gets a week.............................
ii) How much George gets a week.............................

(b) Write down the equation in x and solve it. Hence, work out how much each boy gets a week.

-Please help me answer this problem, I have 10 problems and I want you to please do this for me so that I can do the other 9 left. It will be my guide/example to solve the problems. Please help.. Thank you very much.
