say that a string with a stopper at the end is tied down to an opening and then the stopper blown vertically off the opening at 5 m/s. How can i calculate the force acting on the string when the string is fully extended into the air? I know the mass of the stopper is 0.012g, the string is 0.46 m long, and i have other information which i'm not sure is useful (f.x. the inital force acting on the stopper as it blows off the opening is 64 N) Can someone please show me this calculation? Assume no air

Assume that the suburb has a population of 698000 and is growing at a rate of 4000 per year. Assume that the city has a population of 906000 and is declining at a rate of 12000 per year.

In how many years will the populations of the suburb and the city be equal?

What will the populations be when they are equal?

i got the equations
p=698,000 + 4000y
P=906000 - 12000y

what am i doing wrong

The Memory Jog:The bank where Elmer and Pearl live just got a shiny, new ATM machine. So, they decided they had to get one of them-there cards so they could get their money any time-even on Sunday-going -to-Church day.
But, when the manager said to pick a 7-digit number that you won't forget, and don't use your birthday , etc. they had a problem. They were not good at remembering stuff. What to do! What to do! Then the light come on! Elmer Picked 1058421. Pearl picked 6060247. They exchange information on how they would remember their numbers.Pearl said, "That's a real handy number, Elmer. But I think mine is more timely." Can you figure out what they were using for a memory jog?

I live in Michigan and this nasty brown spider crawled up out of my floor vent last night and I about freaked. It makes me think that my bite on my neck may have been from a similar spider. It was pretty big (not tranchula big, but big for me) and brown. Quite fluidy too. Any idea what type of spiders Michigan harbors and how to avoid/kill them? My bite on my neck was gross and hurt!!

I need to solve this for t but I never can get it right. How do you get t? I'm having a total brain freeze.
