These are two seperate equations.

-3x^0(2x - 3) - (-2^0) - 2 = 5(X - 3^0)2

and

-3 -3^0 -3^2(2x - 5) -(-2x - 3) = -x^0(x - 3)

both should come out to fractions, if I am correct. I get a little mixed up when i have numbers to the zero power. For the first one I got 8/9ths, and for the second, 41/15. I may have fluked on a step or two..

I'm curious about how these work but I don't know much about Quantum Mechanics. I checked Wikipedia, but the info on there assumes you have a base understanding of Quantum Mechanics.

Can anyone explain these things in laymans terms without using a lot of technical lingo? Or is it simply not possible to understand these concepts without first understanding Quantum Mechanics?

Out of sheer curiousity, I'd like to know about how cold and how hot would you have to make a place to make it unbearable for ANY sort of life form?

Is there a limit to life?

Or is it that in some far-off planet in a far-off galaxy, life thrives in climates which are beyond earthly limits?

Are the elements of periodic table just part of a narrow spectrum of the vast elements of universe?

I know the question cannot be answered completely but, I'd love to check out some facts of life.

Thanks a lot!

I am an engineering student at Purdue University and would like to become fluent in a language which will open more opportunities for me upon graduation. Some advisors have said Japanese, Some say Chinese, while still some Spanish or German. I just want to take what is most used within the engineering profession to be an asset for a future employer. Thank you all for answering!

I have in mind a water recyling system, we have severe water supply shortages.
I plan to take the water from a commercialy available waste water treatment plant, pump it into a 200 litre holding tank, gravity feed for toilet flushing in the house.
To do this safely and meet governemt rules, i need to be sure of killing bacteria. I'd like to conserve power also, so it looks like UV light is the go, I have learned that the water needs to be at least 55 celcious for these to occur.
How many light globes are needed for no more then 50 litres per hour treatment? Is 55 degrese enough? Is Polyethylene a suitable material for UV lights.
I have in mind running the water through a container exposed to this light source before the 200L storage.
Thanks for you help with this, I have been weeks on it, and 5 mins here I have made some ground.
