A large water reservoir has two outlet pipes, a small one and a large one. It takes 7 hours to empty the reservoir when only the small outlet pipe is open. It takes 2 hours to empty the reservoir when only the large outlet pipe is open. About what fraction of the reservoir will be emptied in one hour if both the pipes are open?

I got infected with chickenpox and for some reason, I scratched like 5 or 10 on my face but there's like more than 10 holes in my face. I feel really embarrased at school talking to teachers and students and it's effecting my charisma skills.

Is there any way that I can get rid of this even if does take money?

I am currently a high school math teacher, but I am quickly becoming sick of the laziness in a lot of today's youth. Even my Calculus students do not do their homework!! Because of this, I am considering a career change. I am lucky in that my degree is a bachelor of science in math with a teaching certificate. Does anyone have any suggestions for a career with this degree?

Hi all, can someone help me understand the calculating of conditional probability? I know the formula, but let me pose this problem to you:

1) A bin has 10 bolts

2) 2 bolts are defective

3) Select 2 bolts one after the other without replacement

4) What are the conditional probabilities of both defective and nondefective bolts

What gets me on this problem is that the bolts will decrease with each one taken out of the bin, and its messing with my math. Any help will be awesome. Thanks!

When I was at school our maths teacher showed us how they worked out the odds of winning the jackpot in the National Lottery. As this was about 10 years ago now I have a total mind blank of how it was calculated - can anyone out there help me out with a reminder maths lesson?

P.S. I am not a GCSE student who needs help with her coursework. Honest. I have a job. I just spend a lot of time on here.
