The earth has at least 2 moons. On September 3,2002 Canadian amateur asteroid hunter,Bill Yeung, discovered an asteroid J002E3. it circles the earth every 49.5 days along an elliptical path. its closest point to earth : 300,000 km & farthest point from earth : 840,000 km. it is tilted at 21 degrees from the plane of earth's own orbit around the sun.

As for artificial satellites, the US has 413 satellites in orbit around Earth, Russia has 87, India - 33, China-34, and their numerous other satellites in orbit launched by Israel,Australia, Japan, France , UK and others.
