Do two people taste the same flavor? I guess we'll never know. Just like do we see the same colors. Red to me may look blue to you, A hamburger to you may taste like an apple to me. But we are taught that this is red and this is blue so regardless of what we actually see we do know what color it is. Or taste.

I guess that is something we will never know for sure, But I do know from doing wine tastings, that a group of people tasting the same wine will pick up on the different fruits and seasoning in the wine. We pick up on taste both though our taste buds and the from the sense of smell.

Hi. Your tongue has several areas that it uses to taste, say, sweet or bitter. Most of the sense we perceive as taste is actually smell. Take a bite of an apple and your can feel the texture with your tongue and perhaps that it is sweet. But it's not until you breathe through your nose that you will actually "taste" it. I suspect that people have different combinations of tongue and nose sensitivity so my guess is no, we do not all like Brussels sprouts or Merlot.

You use the taste buds on your tongue to test flavors. My husband loves spicy foods. I don't like spicy foods. Two people tasting the same thing, one likes it, the other doesn't.
