I'm so scared because last year halfway through the year i moved to San Diego California and either they hated me (except my friends and like 5 other people) or they didn't know me and their friends hated me so now THEY hate me and i don't know how to get along with people. i don't get why they hate me i'm a nice person and also because of the move i don't know the things we learn because last year in my math class they were still learning stuff i learned in 5th grade (a year before last year) and in science at my new school they were learning earth science and i had been learning something like totally different (it was what they learn in 8th grade here). Can someone PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you know about the meteor that hit an area in Tunguska Russia in 1909, that destroyed all the vegetation in the area? I never heard about it until recently. You can e-mail me at genjc47@yahoo.com to hear more.

In Hollywood movies, the full moon is always depicted as being absolutely huge: taking up a massive proportion of the screen, looking big enough to touch, and you are able to see clearly individual craters on it.

Is the moon really that big in the northern hemisphere, or is this a film studio convention?

If it is that big, why does it look so big and close in the northern hemisphere?

During the inflationary period of the big expansion, the universe expanded faster than speed of light.

If so, did time "flow" backwards during the inflationary period?

If that's so, what 's the implications of time flowing backwards?

I am 20, very intelligent, and very interested in physics. I have no physics background, and am taking a few courses coming up in the winter semesters. I would like to know some good books to learn the basic laws, theorums, etc.. without going into too much detail. I have the Oxford Guide to the History of Physics and Astronomy, but that is just like a physics Encyclopedia. Any help would be appreciated!

Well you have the Planck length, that could be the fundamental unit of length (we would have prefixes of coarse, so don't even try the argument about the measurement being inappropriate to use, it's like disregarding the metric system because you don't want to measure your height in picometers...)

Anyway, planck length for length, the speed of light for speed (or maybe the slowest possible speed derived from the shortest distance and time possible, I don't know)

I'm getting distracted, so just tell me your ideas.

A new bacterium has been secretely engineered and released by aerosal (spray) into the populated of a large metropolitan city as part of a terroist scheme. This bacterium produces a lethal neurotoxin; several horrific enzymes; grows rapidly; and has a capsule. After several days, no unusual illnesses have been reported and the terroists scheme failed. What factors could the bioengineers have overlooked?
