I lived in the Florida Keys, met my now-wife on the telephone through business dealings when she lived in Calgary Canada. After three months of a developing telephone relationship, I took a Greyhound bus for $100 from Big Pine Key, Florida to Brooks, Alberta to meet her for the first time. Her brother was leery of me, but lightened up when we discovered we shared the same birthday.

I would presume any two random people had a 1:365 chance of sharing the same birthday (maybe that's not right but it sounds right to someone who never took sadistics in college)... BUT....

Is it even POSSIBLE to calculate the stastical probability of this kind of thing happening, calculating in the chance that someone from Calgary would be interested in coming to work for a non-profit in Key West, and the romance developing, and the birthday thing?

I'm ALSO just trying to figure out if it's more likely that this was a random thing, or if it is more likely to have a Larger Intelligence behind it.

I am researching counter reactions to preservatives on various plants and Marijuana is on the list. This is not for illegal consumption. Other plants preserve rather will if dried and kept sealed without direct sunlight however, marijuana is unique in that it is highly susceptible to molding. Comparative of course to other plants such as passion vine and salvia divinorum. This is in no way intended to condone the usage of marijuana or any other illegal substance.

I think all the fundamental forces [gravity, electromagnetism, strong, weak] are all fluctuations of the dimensions of spacetime. Gravity is due to the bending of spacetime due to mass; so isnt it a possibility that all the forces are due to the fluctuations of spacetime; maybe the strong & weak are due to mass fluctuating in the higher-dimensions of spacetime, or could there be a fifth force in the higher dimensions that binds them altogether.

If scientists invented a machine that could absorb and release sleepiness? As in there might be some chemicals causing it I don't know, but If you can absorb it when you are studying, and perhaps give it to your mum who has amnesia, or just save it for the night that would be great.

One person reports that he deals with depression on a regular basis. At times he was been diagnosised as 100% disabled. However, he reports that sometimes when he is hit with a certain type of depression (often one that hits like a sledgehammer) sometimes the depression eventually turns into sleepiness. He has to take a nap. However, when he takes the nap and awakes the depression and sleepiness are gone.

He seems to state that to deal with the depression, he somehow converts the depression into something he can deal with which is sleepiness. Then he deals with sleepiness. Has anyone else ever had such an experience with depression? How does one explain this using the chemical imbalance theory?

Some doctors are beginning to argue that depression is an autoimmune disease of the brain. If the immune system attacks apart of the brain that causes depression, maybe the immune system can be directed instead to attack that part that causes sleep. Then the person sleeps.
