I have a regularly irregular cycle...I go between 30 and 60 days, usually around 40. I am wondering if that will cause problems because we want to get pregnant...should I try the ovulation testers? And when would be the right time to test?

My doctor recommended metformin to treat what he thought were signs of PCOS. I was on a steroid medication throughout my childhood to treat my asthma, and it wreaked havoc on my endocrine system.

Now I'm trying to get pregnant. I wanted to know...as a young woman who didn't show alarming signs of severe PCOS...how long after beginning metformin treatment can I expect to ovulate like normal?

I'll take any information you have...online, personal experience...anything. I'm desperate...and everytime I ask my doctor, she avoids the question with something anecdotal.

Did any of you have early symptoms with one pregnancy and nothing with the next? My period is due this Saturday and I've had no pregnancy symptoms. The first time I was pregnant, I had exhaustion, nausea, frequent urination, major mood swings and sore boobs three to four days before my period was due. That pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 12 weeks.

I keep thinking that if I was pregnant this cycle I would be having at least some symptoms by now, since that is what happened the last time I was pregnant.

Any hope for me still since I am having no real symptoms? I don't want to test until the weekend since I have wasted an extreme amount of money on early pregnancy tests the past few months.

I have been off the contraceptive pill for 6 months now after taking it religously for 17 years. I am a fit and healthy 34 year old and desparately want to conceive. What should I be doing to optimise my chances and how long should I expect it to take? My periods returned to normal immediately and are as regular as clockwork. Please reply as all advice is appreciated...

I was recently on tri-sprintic birth control but stopped it in nov. I had 2 periods in nov. and the second one was bc i stopped my pills. I stopped the pills between the 22-25. Well in dec. i did not take any more pills and still had a period and it was like a regular one. Me and my fiance want to start trying to have a baby together next month. We have tried before but had no luck so we want to start trying again. Does anyone know if its possible for me to get pregnant since i had just stopped the pills and if so how long would it take? I dont wanna go to my doctor because i am deaf and id need a family member there to let me know whats being said and if my grandma knows she will be really mad since i live with her. I am 19 and my fiance is 26. I dont have a Gyn or anything so can someone please answer the above questions? Thanks.

HI everyone
I am going for an HSG test tomorrow and have been reading that this can increase the chances of getting preg as the dye can flush out any debris in the tubes ? Has this worked for anyone else ?

My closest friend has been trying to get pregnant, and has been through some meds and procedures- nothing is working yet. At this time another friend is pregnant and I am hosting her baby shower. I need some advice on how to be sensitive to the one having difficulty (she is on the guest list and to leave her off would cause people to question why). I doubt she will come. She seems to take it personally when others around her have babies- even strangers out in public. I know better than to discuss the planning of the shower with her. I can almost predict that once she gets the invitation, she will get upset and call me and make a point of reminding me she can't have kids (even though she's only been trying for a couple years and no where near being classified as barren) , and that she wouldn't be able to deal with it. I love her dearly and don't want her to feel any worse about this. Any advice???

I miscarried on Fri. I heard you are more fertile after pregnancy does that also apply to miscarriage? My bleeding has almost stopped would I consider this my first period? I know the doctor said to wait 1 month to be safe but I was only 6 weeks along and my G. sac wasn't very big. Anyways could I start trying again in a few days once the bleeding stops? Should I ovulate as normal after that?
Thanks a bunch for any useful information!!!

Me and my husband would like to have a child but we don't know if we can have any. When I was born none of my tubes were connected. After about 2 months in the hospital they were miraculously connected by god. So we were wondering what yall thought. Thank you and God Bless!!

I am 34 , I had a period on December 6th that was very very light. Like 2 days if that and maybe used 5 tampons that never fully got soaked (sorry TMI lol). My period was not due until today but on the 31st I started spotting just brown blood, no real period and barely spotted on my pantyliner, mostly just when I wipe.I am not quite convinced I am pregnant yet. (Even though my boobs are a little bigger and hurt but that could mean period time too) I took a HPT on the 23rd thinking maybe I could be since my period in December was irregular and also it came a few days early (My November was normal 4-5 days starting November 9th) I do not feel like wasting money on a stupid test in case my period decides to go full steam ahead. But if this spotting is all I get when do you think I should test?

Also if you have had something similiar happen to you, but you were not pregnant what was it? Anything to be concerned about? If Aunt Flo has decided to be short and sweet that is fine with me!

My husband and I had unprotected sex (twice on my ovulation days), couple of days later I started having crazy "weird" feelings (nausea, dizzy, sensitive to scents, headaches, constipated, and sometimes I "feel" my period coming, also lately my breasts are engorged and sore). I took 4 pregnancy tests, 2 had an extremely faint (almost evaporating lines) but nothing that would say it's a positive. I've waited 1 week between the last 3 tests. My period is now 3 days late and something I get major bloated. My body seems to be telling me that I am pregnant by science (i.e. tests) is saying NO! I'm trying to be positive and not stress over it but what is the likelihood that I am pregnant? I am scheduled for my annual OB-GYN exam in 7 days so I was going to wait to see the doctor. What is the longest time a woman took to get a positive result? or maybe something else is wrong with me
