I am 34 , I had a period on December 6th that was very very light. Like 2 days if that and maybe used 5 tampons that never fully got soaked (sorry TMI lol). My period was not due until today but on the 31st I started spotting just brown blood, no real period and barely spotted on my pantyliner, mostly just when I wipe.I am not quite convinced I am pregnant yet. (Even though my boobs are a little bigger and hurt but that could mean period time too) I took a HPT on the 23rd thinking maybe I could be since my period in December was irregular and also it came a few days early (My November was normal 4-5 days starting November 9th) I do not feel like wasting money on a stupid test in case my period decides to go full steam ahead. But if this spotting is all I get when do you think I should test?

Also if you have had something similiar happen to you, but you were not pregnant what was it? Anything to be concerned about? If Aunt Flo has decided to be short and sweet that is fine with me!

It was around the time I was reaching my late 30's that the menstrual cycle went out of whack. Here is an example - on Dec 23 I had a blast of red bleeding that lasted only overnight and was gone - then on the 28th the blood was brownish and stayed like a wipe away discharge til the period began in earnest on Jan1 (on time). Happy freakin New Year. I am not pregnant and this type of thing - false starts and failure to finish in under 14 days have been common for several years. It is quite possible that it is because I was not having sex at all and therefor the plumbing wasn't being plunged so it gets a bit backed up (my personal theory not a medical fact). Some months I seem to get two full length periods but I never ever have missed a month. ARGH!

Hi, I had a similar problem, i didnt have my period at all but i did have a little spotting, i was starting to feel a little bit of signs of pregnancy or maybe that my period was going to start, i finally went to the doctor and the doctor told me that you can stress your body out and it can actually start having the signs of pregnancy, he said that the more you think about it or worry about it then the longer or the more different your period will become, BUT you could very well be pregnant and just not have have enough hgc to make a test positive yet. I would say just relax and wait, if your period dosent go back to normal and the pregnancy test is still negative then go to the doctor there are so many things it could be. I really hope this turns out the way you want it to and i hope i helped you out a little. I wish the best of luck to you.

It sounds like your pregnant to me. I have been pregnant twice and a "i thought i was" once. When i had what you had i took tests 7 weeks later and it was positive. The false time my body was acting pregnant but the tests were negative was when i was diagnosed with fibroid tumors in my uterus. When they settle into your uterus your body thinks that a baby just did that and now the brain will tell the body to do it's thing. That's why your doctor should give you a medication to shrink the tumors. One thing about pregnancy tests though. They say they work as fast as when you've missed a period but sometimes they don't. With both of my real pregnancies the tests weren't positive until i was 11 weeks pregnant...that's 2 months along!

Brown blood is usually old blood. I would say chances are your pregnant. Best bet is to make an appointment with your gynocologist for a routine checkup and have him check for pregnancy that way if its negative then he can try to find out why you are having weird/missed periods. Home tests can be wrong. I say go the doctor that way you'll know for sure either way. Good Luck and Take Care.

I am 28 and it happened to me. I was on birth control at the time though. I found out that I had a cyst the size of a soccer ball, the next time I had one the size of a volleyball, I ended up with a partial hysterectomy. I would call my doctor and see what he thinks. Usually if you are pg then your period will be late.
