What are the chances of having a baby with down syndrome and does the doctor find out and tell you during your pregnancy and how early in the pregnancy?

I had sex about a little less than a month ago and used a condom. But my period is a few days late. Actually I cant remember the exact date I got it last month. What are the chances that I am pregant? Is all that I can do just wait?

i understand that blokes cant have a say in abortion because at the end of the day it is the womans body....

but... if a man expresses his wishes that he does not want to have the baby, he cant make a woman have an abortion, should he have to pay for the child benefits?

I'm not sure where i stand on this one!

My boyfriend and I have picked out a name for our son. I'm 6 months pregnant and it's taken this WHOLE time to finally agree on one. We like Dylan Avery. I told my mom, however, and she thinks Dylan sounds "country" similar like Trevor, Dustin and Travis..."hick" names. She said if Dylan doesn't remind her of a "country" name it reminds her of a bratty kid. I'm upset by this. She said she doesn't want to call him Dylan if I name him Dylan. She said that she'll call him "jackson" (My original name choice) Do you think this name sounds like what she said...or is it a cute name? I just don't see it being country or bratty, but it upsets me and I'm at a loss. Plus I'm mad she's already refusing to call him by his name, just cause she doesn't like it. What do I do?

I have always disagreed with abortion, but latley I have had to think twice about it just in case. All of my friends said they would hate me if I had gotten pregnant and had an abortion. I used to think this two, untill I thought I was pregnant. Then I decided it was something I might decide to do. My stepmom says it is my decision.... however my dad says that I should take care of my mistakes.. I love babies... I do...And if I had a kid, I would want to give them the best they could EVER have, but I know that i could not do that at this age. Am I wrong in my thinking or does it sound reasonable?

I don’t know how to put into words how I’m feeling at the moment. I’m 31 and my boyfriend is 24, we’ve been together 12 months and I’ve recently suffered a miscarriage. I’m devastated as even though the baby wasn’t planned after the initial shock it was very much wanted by both of us. I feel like this is my fault because it was my body that rejected the baby.
Daniel (my boyfriend) and me haven’t spoken about the miscarriage and I feel as if he is blaming me as well, he hasn’t cried and he’s acting like it hasn’t happened. I feel that we are growing apart; he won’t touch me not to even give me a cuddle or a kiss. I’m scared that I am going to lose him on top of losing our baby and I feel that my life as I know it is slipping away. His parents have been against us from the start and I feel that they are using the miscarriage to the advantage, he’s even moved back in with them. I’m really at a loss as to what to do. I love Daniel to bits and I don’t want to lose him.

my 1st date of the last perior was on 4 feb 2007, and i check my blood test was on 10 mar 07 (i am pregnant). my HGC lever is 127. but today (14 mar 07) i check again my blood test, my HGC lever is 107. how come it increase? i am worry.. doctor said it need to worries and it is not normal.. how??

ive been feeling very tired sometimes dizzy with nausea my stomach has been swollen with a few pains and this month i had only one day periond the rest was very pink and brown and very light, im always regular. also my breasts have been very sore and my wasteline seem to be expanding. We have 2 children (6 and 3) and I have had 3 miscarriages over the years. i have just found out I am 7 weeks pregnant again but my husband has said he doesn't want anymore children. I would love another child but don't want to lose my husband. He has said he wants me to have an abortion but I don't think I am strong enough to cope with this as I feel like this baby is already part of me. Any help with dealing with husband or suggestions on what to do gratefully received.

I just found out that I am 2 weeks pregnant. The problem is, that I had my period on the 14th Feb, then had unprotected sex on the 27th, then sex on the 2nd march with a condom that didnt break or leak (I checked) I am still a bit concerned though, can anyone tell me which one would be most likely? Okay, I've taken the test twice and days apart and its negative for both. But my breasts are really sore, which is usually indicative of my period. I am 15 days late. what do you think? :( I've also been really stressed lately and I'm losing sleep over this. I know that stress is a factor as well. I feel so scared right now that I can't focus on anything else!

Ok, so here's the deal...the night that I got into Iraq, I called my wife to let her know that I touched down with no issues. As soon as I said hello, she informed me that we were pregnant! Just so it is out there...I am very happy about it, we were trying before I deployed. She is about 6 weeks into her first trimester, and everytime we talk, we get into a fight! i know that I am really edgy over here, and with her hormones changing...it makes for a deadly combination! Before I left, our marriage was great, and I know that once I get back, we will be fine. But that is only if things get better while I am over here. I want to talk to her as much as I can, but she always seems too tired to talk to me. I understand that she really needs her rest, but all I am asking for is about an hour a day to chat on line! Is that asking too much? please ladies, the more advice that you can give me, the better our relationship has to get. I'm at rock bottom here, and anything will help!!

Ok, I will probably never have kids and have no partner yet. But the fact is that with my medical condition it will not be safe for me to have kids. I would like to get my tubes tied before I have a bf or get married, so my partner would know where I stand on the issue and not think I will change my mind. I am debating about this. Would it be acceptable for a young person, in their late 20's to have this done?

I had unprotected sex with my boyfreind twice 3-4 days before my period was due and did not have my pills with me at the time hence skipped 2 days without taking them but I got my period 3 days later and it lasted 3 days7 days after my period stopped i started having stomach cramps and lower back pain and my nipples are sensitive.The thing is i'm still taking the pills and not sure if i'm pregnant but if i am could the pill affect the baby?

P.S. I've been on the pill for about 2 years.
