depending on what time your next test is (do not starve yourself!) try to watch your sugar as well as your carbohydrate in take that day all carbs break down to sugars in the body! Gestational diabetes is very common and most times it will go away away you deliver the baby it doesn't always! Some women have to inject themselves with insulin depending on how bad it is, however just to put your mind at ease a little my gf who just delivered her third baby had gestational diabetes her last two pregnancies the second time was worse she was giving herself 2 injections a day once she delivered she no longer has to do it. Truthfully it can go either way your best bet is to watch your intake of those 2 things i mentioned earlier best of luck to you!

I JUST went through this. If it is high you will have Gestational Diabites. It is very serious to your baby so if you have it or even if you are borderline, watch your sugar!!! I had to take insulin 2 times a day but your doctor may give you oral medication. I had to test my sugar 4 times a day. You will be sent to a class to learn how to do it. It may seem scarey but it is really not that bad. And if you have to take insulin shots, I found the best place for me was on my outter thigh. I did not even feel it. Most likely it will go away after you give birth. For your baby... you may have a big one! With my 2 kids one was 11 lbs and 5 ozs, my 2nd was 10 lbs 6 ozs. Gestiational Diabetes can also cause the babies lungs to not develop fully and may have to be medicated for it. The baby could have sugar problems at birth also so take care of yourself for your babies sake!

Some women can have pregnancy associated diabetes. Just do the tests and follow all the advice given to you by the medical professionals so that both your & your baby's health aren't compromised.
I don't believe this means you have diabetes for life, but those are the questions you ask your doctor and/or nurses.

It is just your body changing since you are pregnant. Sometimes, women have blood sugar problems when they are pregnant. Then, after they have the baby; their blood sugar level goes back to normal.
