Ok, I will probably never have kids and have no partner yet. But the fact is that with my medical condition it will not be safe for me to have kids. I would like to get my tubes tied before I have a bf or get married, so my partner would know where I stand on the issue and not think I will change my mind. I am debating about this. Would it be acceptable for a young person, in their late 20's to have this done?

Hi there.
You are the very best person to answer your question. Sometimes doctors do not like to do a tubal ligation on a young woman who has not had any children because they are afraid she will be sorry later. However, doctors are more and more letting the woman make her own decision in this regard. A particular doctor my chose not to do it but you can always find another one who will.
If you have a medical condition that makes it unsafe for you to risk a pregnancy and you know that it would only end it an abortion then a tubal ligation is definitely the best decision. Why put yourself through the emotional roller coaster of an abortion when you already know what you want to do? I believe that an abortion should always be a last resort and in your case it can not be avoided. It sounds to me like you have put a great deal of thought into this decision and since your situation is not going to change you would be making an intelligent choice. I am sure that it will not be hard to find a surgeon that will help you.
Good luck and I hope that all goes well for you. I wish you all the best.
Love and Blessings

I don't think its too early in life. It shouldn't matter if you have a medical condition or not. Its your body and you choice so I don't see what the big deal is. I am 24 and while I am able to have children (currently pregnant with baby three) I am getting my tubal ligation in the hospital after I give birth. The only person I have ran into some resistance about my decision in my 15 year old sister. My husband is supportive and as are the rest of our family and friends. You have to do whats best for you...

I am a mom of 3, after my last pregnancy I decided to have my tubes tied.. I had a horrible pregnancy with having Type 2 Diabetes... My OB Doctor.. was very caring, kept a eye on my baby and myself... There could of been thousands of things wrong with my baby at birth, I am thankful everyday that I had a healthy little girl { after 2 boys} .. But, if this is something you really, really want to do... It is your choice, If you do decided to do this, Just always keep in mind there are lots of children out there waiting for adoption. Good luck !!

If you do have health problems and having a child would make it worse on your health then i see nothing wrong in it or even if you did not have nothing wrong with you and you did not want kids then i understand.
I have never heard of a doctor though tieing someone's tubes when they don't even have kids but maybe it would be different for you because of the health issues.
My sister had her tubes tied when she was 21 after having one child.
I was going to have my tubes tied also at age 21 when my son was born (done had the papers signed) but he was born early and they scared me into not having them tied.
Yes it is aceptable.

appears like she has lied to you. yet specific, it fairly is a threat, yet very very uncommon. many times if a girl gets pregnant after her tubes are tied it fairly is ectopic and there is 0 threat of her donning the toddler to term. On an extremely very uncommon social gathering the tubes can locate the ends and advance jointly, allowing preganancy. yet using fact she has switched round her memories plenty, i could doubt her very plenty. She would have even lied approximately having her tubes tied before everything. i could call for a paternity attempt if that's what she is approximately.

there are only a few states in the united states that will perform the surgery....oregon and alaska are two of them and i forgot the third one...only because they have their own say so to speak on when to do these types of things....if you have no children regardless of your medical condition they will look at your age...your far too young....i know a lady who had two kids and was 27 and she had to go see a therapist first to make sure it was what she wanted.....sadly you might just have to stay the way you are for awhile....and if your future bf/husband doesn't understand where your comming from on not wanting to have kids because of your condition then he doesn't sound very loving to me...when you meet the right person they will understand...

Probably not. Most doctors will not tie your tubes unless you are over 25 and have at least 2 kids.

If it is not safe for you to have children, then of course it is acceptable, you need to do what is right for you. Your medical condition would be compromised without this procedure so as long as it is what you want to do, I say that it is perfectly acceptable. and Good Luck!

If you have a medical condition that is life threating you really need to talk to your doctor about it, There have been girls younger than yourself get their tubes tied. Talk to your doctor more.

you haven't mentioned any medical problem due to which you're considering this.
if there is indeed some medical problem, it is a very bold decision, otherwise why don't you wait till you're in a relationship and then decide about the issue.
