I'm only 6 weeks pregnant but I have a persistent cough. Not only is it driving nuts and making my throat sore, but I'm afraid that if I cough hard enough I may hurt the baby! My mother says "Take a spoonful of lemon juice and honey," but that works only to soothe my throat and not even for a long time. Any suggestions or advice? No fever and the occassional runny nose, but thats it.

During my first pregnancy, I never drove more than one hour in any direction right up until the day they induced me. Now I've moved 500 miles away (an 8 hour car trip one way), and now that I'm pregnant with my second child, my family back home is begging me to come down every month, especially for the baby shower and other family gatherings. I want to know if anyone has traveled a long distance while substantially pregnant, (between 6 to 9 months) and if there are any unpleasant things I should anticipate? Will my lower back kill me, irritability, frequent stopping? Any prior experience in the matter would be a great deal of help. When should I stop traveling? I know every woman's pregnancy is different, but every little bit helps. Thanks!

I would like to have a baby now, but my husband said he wants to wait another year, so I agreed I haven’t bugged him about it since our talk.

I love him and don’t want to pressure him into doing something when he may resent me (or a baby) for it later!

I have some immature friends who are pressuring their partners for children.

One friend has known her boyfriend for 1 year. She is fighting with him non-stop because he wants to wait until they are married, but she continued to pressure him. He finally caved in because he was worried she would leave him!

Another friend, before she married her husband, agreed to have only one child. She had one baby and she decided she wanted another one, he said no more. So she “forgot” to take her birth control for 3 months and didn’t tell her husband. She’s pregnant now.

What is wrong with these people? I know men do it too, but it always seems like women are throwing themselves into bad situations ON PURPOSE!

What do you think?

I tried it yesterday and again today and both the times the line was faint but clearly visible. My period is not due till tomorrow and I got all PMS sysmptoms. What are my chances of being pregnant? This is my first one and have no clue about all this. DO I need to be extra careful about anything? Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

I am 39 weeks pregnant and I am sooooo ready to have this baby. I am worried that I will go over my due date. I heard that having sex can help. Rather it helps labor to come on or just helps the labor its self I have no idea. This is my first baby if that helps. Please give me some hope!!!!

I dont want to have one, dont plan on having one. But I am still in my first trimester and I heard its more common than what I think it is. What happens when a Miscarriage occurs. Is it quick, or last a few days. What happens when you know you have had one? What does the doctor do?

I'm curious in case this happens to me, I plan on having alot of children in my future and I would like to be educated on Miscarriage. I have known people to have them, I just never asked them in person, escpecially right away, because I know they were hurt by it.

Thank you

Okay...me and my boyfriend have had unprotected sex a few times, which I know is not smart so I don't need that lecture, but I was supposed to start 4 days ago and I haven't. I thought I was experiencing signs of my period like: eating a lot, being blotted, tired, but I guess those could be signs of being pregnant too. I took 2 pregnancies test and they both were negative and Im kinda avoiding the doctor....do you think there still is a chance I could be pregnant? I should of started by now....

I know that book has been around forever, but I know for myself (yes I have read it) there is a lot of wrong information and vague answers in it.
I know it has caused a lot of nervous mothers to panic and arrive at the hospital because they have indigestion.

Any one else have any thoughts on the matter?

My friend had her last period June 12 thru the14.?
Ever since then she has not recieved a period! She says she spotted, very light pink for 3 days starting July 4 thru the 6. She says her stomache has been cramping, minor headaches, lower back pain and tingly nipples with little bumps on them. It has been 42 days without her period, and she took a pregnacy test on sunday and it came up negative. Is it possible for her still to be pregnant? She has unprotected sex with her husband just about every day! Can this happen, can her hcg not be high enough yet, has this happened to any women out there. She claims she feel pregnant she feels more tired than usual, and has the same amount of stress as usual. What can be wrong, has this happened to any of you or anyone you know?

Many women fear labor (the process of giving birth that is!). Why should only women suffer the terrible pain and not the men share with them? Here is a suggestion to share the pain: while in labor pains, the woman should hold on to her man's testicles. That should do the trick of pain sharing. Highly unrecommended if you intend have more children with the same man...

I am 12 weeks pregnant. I just had a prenatal exam four days ago and the heartbeat was fine and the midwife told me my baby was perfectly healthy.

that day, MONDAY, I ate some eggs and bacon for breakfast, a BLT for lunch, and a roasted beef loin, mashed potatoes, garlic bread and some stuffing for dinner. I also had orange juice and water throughout the day.

At 4 AM Tuesday, I woke up to severe stomach cramps. I hurt for about 2 hours before I managed to fall asleep. I was gassy and my husband thought it was gas pain.

At 6:40 I had a diarrhea like bowel movement.

At 10:30 Tuesday I had another one.

By the time I got home from work at 5 I was tired and fell asleep and slept through the night fine.

This morning, Wed, I had another severe bowel movement. I feel cramp-like in my stomach, the muscles seem achy, and I am scared.

Is my baby at risk? Is it my baby causing it? Is it food poisoning? How should I eat or treat it?

If I feel worse by 6 pm I am going to ER.

With my first baby (in 2000) I gained 48 pounds and didn't really show until about 5 months. With this one, I am 14 weeks, and it is obvious I am pregnant.
