I am 12 weeks pregnant. I just had a prenatal exam four days ago and the heartbeat was fine and the midwife told me my baby was perfectly healthy.
that day, MONDAY, I ate some eggs and bacon for breakfast, a BLT for lunch, and a roasted beef loin, mashed potatoes, garlic bread and some stuffing for dinner. I also had orange juice and water throughout the day.
At 4 AM Tuesday, I woke up to severe stomach cramps. I hurt for about 2 hours before I managed to fall asleep. I was gassy and my husband thought it was gas pain.
At 6:40 I had a diarrhea like bowel movement.
At 10:30 Tuesday I had another one.
By the time I got home from work at 5 I was tired and fell asleep and slept through the night fine.
This morning, Wed, I had another severe bowel movement. I feel cramp-like in my stomach, the muscles seem achy, and I am scared.
Is my baby at risk? Is it my baby causing it? Is it food poisoning? How should I eat or treat it?
If I feel worse by 6 pm I am going to ER.

It was my birthday, otherwise I eat very healthy - in response to snooty response from girl about how it's all the greasy meat.

Are you otherwise able to keep food down?
If so, that's a great sign! Try and have some soup (corny I know, but it works) and some dry toast. Also drink a sports drink that has eletrolytes in it. This will help keep you from being dehydrated.
As long as you are not bleeding your baby is safe, and this could be a form of 'morning sickness' (i was the same way when I ate certain foods all through out my pregnancy) but of course talk to your doctor with your concerns.

I'm not sure, but it sounds like you have a stomach upset (because of the diarrhea and the gassiness), or it could be food poisoning (which usually causes vomiting as well, but it doesn't seem like you have been vomiting, so I don't know). If the pain and the cramps are happening to the stomach area - note that the stomach is higher than where your uterus is, so the pain should be in your upper abdomen, not the lower abdomen - then most likely something is just wrong with your stomach, and not with the baby. If you are concerned that there may be a threatened miscarriage to the baby, note that in a threatened miscarriage, severe cramping on the lower abdomen and spotting or light bleeding are the common signs. Granting that you haven't had any bleeding or spotting, your baby may be fine. As always, it is better to check with a professional such as your doctor just to be safe. You might just be having some gastrointestinal problems, totally unrelated to your pregnancy or your baby.
Have you tried taking any sort of medication -like antacids maybe or anti-diarrheal medication (the kind that is safe to be use while pregnant)? Are you having any other symptoms, such as fever maybe? Make sure you keep yourslef hydrated - one of the risks that comes with diarrhea is dehydration, so don't let that happen, or you'll feel worse than ever and it is not safe for you or the baby.
Goodluck to you and hope you feel better soon. Definitely go to the ER if symptoms get worse.

Diarrhea, Cramping, and Gassiness are all normal during this time of your pregnancy. If you are really concerned though, call your doctor.
Get the book "What to Expect When You Are Expecting". It will tell you what is normal and what is not normal through your entire pregnancy.

I was just like that except I went to my Doctor right away. He had me take 1 tbs Benefiber for the rest of my pregnancy and I was fine after that.

You should see your doctor right away. A similar thing hapened to me while I was pregnant with my first. Just turned out that I was really sensitive to dairy and I am usually not. See your doctor and good luck.

Check in with your midwife..you need to make sure you are keeping hydrated, and perhaps you can get something for the diarrhea.
Anytime you are sick when pregnant, it is not a bad idea to check in with your midwife.
Feel better soon.

You are not vomiting, it's not food poisoning. Go to the doctor or at least call the doctor and see what he says.
