Well, some birth tests want you to wait until you missed your entire period, before using them, so be very careful when using those, try again the following sunday or monday. Just avoid anything that could harm the fetus, like smoking or drinking, if you're interested in keeping the baby.
There's alot of things that can cause you to be late, or miss your period, from polycystic olvaries, infections, being sick, false pregnancies, diabeties, sugar problems, Thryoid problems.... there's too many things to say. It could simply be that you're cycle is changing too, My cycle has changed 3 times, in my life. Thats why you should go to the doctor, as soon as monday is up, and you still haven't had your period, and the test STILL says negative. the doctors deal with these situations all the time, dont be embarrased of anything, being embarassed will only make you not want to take the needed steps. this sort of situation no matter WHAT the outcome, happens all the time, and there are many people that could help you out, no matter what.
I wont preach to you about having unprotected sex, although it's not safe in this day and age, plus there's a chance of getting pregnant, it's still what you have decided to do. as logn as you understand that you ahve to take responsibility for those conseqences, and so does he. I'm only saying this, because going to the doctor, is one of those conseqences. You shoudn't be afraid.
I'm married and have un protected sex, but i'm on the pill. So theres a little to no risk of having children. If you choose to have unprotected sex, choose to atleast get a form of birthcontrol that is right for you, theres a shot, a patch, a pill, and a surgery.
I'm not saying that because you shouldn't be producing babies, but it would ease your mind knowing, that you're incontrol of your own body. and that is the most important part of being a woman, you should decide when you're ready to have a baby.
Keep testing yourself, until you get your next period, if you decide not to go to a doctor, it's important, to keep yourself in the right condition, if youre pregnant. There's vitamins, and pre-treatments and steps you should take, and other steps to take during other steps of pregancies. Just take care of yourself.

I don't know how old you are or how regular your periods are but yes, of course you could be pregnant. Being only 4 days late, it is a little early to seek a doctors advice. Why don't you try First Response. They advertise that it can detect pregnancy before you even miss a period.
Also, If you are stressed out about anything, that can cause your period to be late. If you are sick you could also be late. If you still haven't started in a few more days, you might want to go ahead and make that appointment with your doctor.

I had negative tests for the first 5 weeks of one of my pregnancies. There is always a chance. Take prenatal vitamins or a folate supplement everyday anyway. It can help prevent serious birth defects very early in pregnancy. Eat healthy, rest lots and take another test in a week or so. If you do get a postive test, I understand that you don't want to go to a doctor, but you should take your unborn baby to one anyway.Good luck, I hope it all turns out for the best.

Give it another few days, and test again...you may be under a little extra stress, and your period id just late. You might want to think about getting on the pill if you and your boyfriend are having unprotected sex

The tests are pretty reliable so I'd say you're just late. Each time I've ever used a home test it's always been accurate.
Please be more careful from now on (no lecture!)
