With my first baby (in 2000) I gained 48 pounds and didn't really show until about 5 months. With this one, I am 14 weeks, and it is obvious I am pregnant.

I agree that you could be pregnant with more than one baby. However you have to remember that if you were pregnant before then you will most likely show sooner with any pregnancies that follow. I didn't show with my first until I was almost 6 months and with my second it was within 8 weeks. Everyone is different and every pregnancy is different. Good luck

I looked up your question and I guess it's fairly common to show earlier if this is not your first pregnancy since the muscles are weaker and more stretched out since the first one...
Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting". It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.

No your first pregnancy always takes longer to show because your stomache has never stretched like that before, showing at about 3 months is completly normal for a 2nd pregnancy

With my first pregnancy, I started showing at 7 weeks. 14 weeks does not seem unusual to me.

I don't think it is stange to show early with second child .I have had three girls and I was showing with the second one very early .
It was very soon after i found out I was pregnant.congrats on the new baby and good luck !

i didnt show with my son until i was mid 5 months....with this pregnancy at 4 months i looked like i was at the end of my 6th month....alot of ppl have been telling me that you show much sooner with your second than your first

nah 2nd pregnancies are usually different then the first and it depends on the woman to some show quicker then others

It's normal to start showing earlier when you have had pregnancies in the past.

have you had a sonogram? maybe it's more than one.
for certain women the gender of a baby can affect the appearance more. You may have a child or children of a different gender

You show more with your second. I am looking the same way with my second pregnancy! Doctor said this was normal.
