Contractions are more of an achy, crampy feeling in your lower abdomen and back. Does this pain change if you change positions or if you walk around?
It could very well be that your skin is stretching and it is normal but as always check with your doctor if you are concerned
Good luck!

Yes, this is normal. It is called round ligament pain. Since your belly has been expanding, the ligaments that support your uterus are also stretching and expanding. Sometimes, it causes sharp pains. You're lucky that you are just now experiencing them!
