I prefer it when names are spelled correctly. I understand people wanting to be original and all, but all the cutesy different spellings come off very trailer park & not very sophisticated, or even worse, that the parent was too dumb to know the correct spelling of the name! There's a book, "Freakonomics" written by Steven Levitt an economist, there's a whole chapter on names & what they signify and weird spellings of names are typically given by uneducated or lower class parents. It also went on to explain how popular names trickle down through the social economic status. For instance Madison, Ethan, Mackenzie, and started out as "high end" names a few years back when upper class parents gave to their kids, now it's popular with the masses & in 5-7 years all the lower class people will be naming their kids that with more muddled up spellings, of course. For instance, at one time Crystal was a very "high end" now it's a stripper name. The name Britney is headed that way already!

Between the two of us, my husband & I are German, Russian, Slovak, Irish and Scottish. We are not going with any names beginning with A, G or U because of what her initials would be. We have also found we really don't like the way M or N names sound, since it sounds like they run together with the first name. Also, so far we are staying away from middle names with two syllables since then the name gets a sing-song effect when said all together and we don't want that. The last thing we were hoping for is the name to be not super common, but also not too hard to spell. Thanks much!

I have no idea what to name my baby. I (think) it's a girl and I can't come up with a name. Maybe that means it's a boy! Ha. We'll find out on Thursday at our ultrasound. Meanwhile, what do you think of the names Cadence and Aubrey? How about Annika? Other ideas? I typically like 2 syllable names for some reason...

Me and my sister is having a contest on which name is better. Our name is set in life, so far we love our names but we wanted to have a fun contest to see which names get the most votes. Check in later to see which name and who wins! My sister, whose cover name is Sandy, has also posted this. Please vote. No suggestions because we don't want to change our names anyways. Need at least 20 votes.
