Neither Zoe nor Mackenzie sound good with Mary-Ellen. Luckily Mary Ellen is lovely, I would totally go with that choice. I hope your grandmothers are still alive to watch their little namesake running around, it will make them so happy. :)

I love the significance of Mary Ellen. So much so, that I'd likely just go with that last option. ;)
Of the other two, however, my favorite would be Zoe Mary Ellen (but I wouldn't personally hyphenate them ... just creates more problems). If you're worried one would inevitably be left out when filling out forms and such that only allow for one middle name or initial (and no hyphens either, for what it's worth), you could use Mary Ellen as a double first name -- just list BOTH on the first name line of the birth certificate, no punctuation necessary -- and still give her a middle name all her own. Mary Ellen (first name line) Zoe (middle name), for example. ;)
Also, I wouldn't pair newly-trendy Mackenzie with classic Mary and Ellen. It just seems an odd pairing, whereas equally-classic Zoe is simply a spunky addition to an already lovely name. :) Hope that helps!

Zoe Mary-Ellen is great. You might want to use Zoe as the first name and Mary Ellen as the middle name, no hyphen.

Mary Ellen Perkins is about the most wholesome name I can imagine. I love it.
If you want something with more edge, the go with Mackenzie Mary-Ellen.
But honestly, Mary Ellen or Mary-Ellen Perkins is a name that just makes me feel nostalgic. It's a name that sounds like "home", that is like a tall glass of lemonade on the veranda, that is like a big old victorian house with a happy family inside.
I love it. I would go with it!

I like Zoe Mary-Ellen. When I hear the name Zoe I think of a sweet, quiet, and overall girly-girl. Zoe Mary-Ellen sounds so intelligent and sophisticated, and I love how you're honoring your family. No one really does that anymore and I think it is very nice to keep name alive like that.
