Do you as a young adult in High School feel to much attention and emphasis is placed on college and not enough on vocational/technical? Do you feel if more emphasis was placed on education for a career/trade immediatley after high school there would be less drop outs or students who do not care? Seems to me when my daughters were in High School all I ever heard about was what students had to do for college etc. Counselors spent all their time with the college bound. Do you feel if you are not going to college schools should be doing a better job preparing you for the working world.

i get picked on all the time at school i get called fat and nasty and ugly and albino the teachers dont do anything they just tell me to ignore it then when i get home i get yelled at by my mom all the time and she doesnt let me go out of the house and hang out with my friends like yesturday there was something wrong with the computer and she started yelling at me saying it was my fault i had not been on the computer for 3 days

I was allowed to shave my legs right before 7th grade and get my ears pierced at age 13. My sister has been bothered about her legs and my mom decided that she could, if she would agree to get her ears pierced when she was 14. Now, my mom also said this. When my sis got her period, she could get her ears pierced. It was offered to me too, but my birthday came before it. Is it fair? Should I ask my mom if I will get rewarded too? Our son is 17 1/2 and says he loves and wants to go out with a girl that is going to be 15 soon. We have told him she is too young to date, but he was willing to move in with his out of town parent for the summer in order to talk and have any chance possible to see her. She has been living with her grandfather, my ex, since she was six months old, and he is seriously ill. I have adopted her 11 year old brother, he's been with me since he was two. He's an honor roll student, she is just finishing the 8th grade, altho she is very intelligent. She has a track record of creating severe problems in school and at home, he has a pretty good record in that dept., nothing major. She is a very good singer, pro quality, he can't carry a tune in a bucket, but loves to try. I'm afraid of favoring him or leaning too far the other way, trying to make her feel welcome, and make him feel second class all of a sudden. I'm pretty apprehensive about the whole thing.

We really don't know each other very well, and I really hope it works out.
