Our son is 17 1/2 and says he loves and wants to go out with a girl that is going to be 15 soon. We have told him she is too young to date, but he was willing to move in with his out of town parent for the summer in order to talk and have any chance possible to see her. He has given up his vehicle, cell phone etc. just for her. He was sneaking around to see her, but tells us his relationship is platonic. Why is he willing to give up everything???

I also need to mention that he feels this way about any girl that has liked him. He has only had a couple very short-term relationships (they break-up with him), so these actions concern us deeply.

Because he loves her. I'm in love with a 14 year old that has a two hour time difference and I doubt I'll be able to see her any time soon. It feels horrible to not be able to ever see the person you want to spend your life with, trust me. Just let him do his thing and if it doesn't work out he'll learn a deep lesson somehow and move on. Just give it time. :]

its what all girls do spend others money until they find another jack to pay for their expenses. one of my friends has ended up spendin up somewhere by 10-15 grand on a girl n she jus told him - hi renick he's my fiance n we r gettin married on 3 march.
this is jus an attraction which occurs at his age n distracts him so jus tell him n try to sitdown n discuss this or the best way is to meet one of his friends n ask him to convince him beacuse teens listen n respect their friends more than parents this should help him

Well maybe he really loves her, even though its puppy love I don't think he should've done what he should, let it be. This will be a life lesson for him, when they break up and he realizes he doesn't have any of the things he had before he dated her then he will think that it was a big mistake and that he shouldn't have done that
