i feel really bad for you that same incident hit home. just this year my son had to pay 70.00 dollars for a book he didnt lose but left in a class room becuz the teacher told them to leave your stuff that they would be right back, well when he returned his book was gone, and that left us still responsible!!not fair and also he did not go to his graduation either. i did manage to borrow the money and pay it but, after all that mess he was so discusted he didnt go to graduation. he said he will just walk across the stage when he is in his senior year instead that, that graduation was for only the ones that arent goin to gradusate thier senior year!!so he has something to look forward to four more years from now!!i hope you find a solution and i really sympathize with your situation and i think that is not fair!!!good luck

Try really hard to find the book you don't want to pay $75. If you can't find it ask a grandparent or a friends mom or dad and then pay them back when you get the money. This happened to me once accept it wasn't $75 and I looked all over and it was right in front of my nose!!!!

you should pay it as soon as possible. i hear that you cant graduate until you pay off anything you owe to the school. in your case, that book. so borrow money from someone and pay it. or like everyone else said, go and talk to your teacher or principal and tell them your situation and im sure they would let you do something around the school or in the office so that you wont have to pay them back. good luck. next time keep your school books in one place.

See if there is anything you can do as far as service to the school. For example maybe clean the library or do some other work as trade for the book you lost. If you really cannot afford it and the administrators really care about you they should be able to figure something out.

If you tell your principal your situation he or she may be able to give you things to do around the school to work the book off. If not there are always ways to earn money you could babysit or help elderly around the house once you get the word out that you are willing to work I bet people will give you things to do.
