I do not believe in the 'supply-and demand' BS...oil companies are making record profits. Why can't the govt do SOMETHING to help out the middle-lower classes cope with this crisis?

As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality.

why do so many of you continue to harp and cry about Bill lying about getting a hummer from Monica? How do you have the nerve to bring up something so meaningless in the face of our current president who misled the american people to get us into this catastrophe in iraq?

tell me what tangible, real or lasting harm Bill's philandery and dishonesty did to the military, economy or reputation of america. and then let's start the list of what W's folly has done.

In 2001, Bush promised that he will fight dictators anywhere/anytime in the world if they suppress democracy. Here are his quotes which he said in the heat of the moment in 2001, but now finds it too tough to admit them.

'So it is the policy of the United States to seek and support the growth of democratic movements and institutions in every nation and culture, with the ultimate goal of ending tyranny in our world"

'All who live in tyranny & hopelessness can know: I won't ignore your oppression, or excuse your military dictators be they in any part of the world. Anytime.''

"I will encourage reform in other dictatorship run nations by making clear that success in our relations will require the decent treatment of their people."

"I will spread freedom and liberty worldwide and end all dictator run regimes once found of wrongdoing"

So all these quotes apply to dictator Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan, who declared state of emergency & fired all judges

No action against Musharaf?

How can it claim to be a secular democracy with liberal qualities (such as free speech) when it will not tolerate any anti-Gandhi sentiment? The education system, the left-wing media, the law enforcment bodies (such as the police and courts) will come down on you like a ton of bricks if you criticise Gandhi. Text books only give one side of the story, about how great he was blah blah blah blah blah. His failures are not so much looked at and if anyone dares to contradict the presiding sentiment that the majority of Indians have been brainwashed with, they are attacked by the Congress party Goons.

Fair enough, if Indians want to love and admire Ghandhi, that is their decision. However where is the justification in forcing everyone to love and admire him and in curtailing any criticism of Gandhi.

Those people who do not like Gandhi have just as much right to express themselves as those that do love Gandhi. However anti-ghandi people are automatically considered fascist.

Why do Republicans hate paying taxes... while they seem to love getting fleeced by corporate America? They pay way too much for health insurance, pharmaceutical drugs, the Iraq war... and a whole lot of other things, and they're just fine with that. Willingness to get taken to the cleaners seems to have become an act of patriotism. Good Americans support capitalism by getting gouged... and bowing to the corporations who are doing the gouging.

But they hate to pay more in taxes, even if it means saving money.

Why?

What does it mean if God doesn't deliver? Or do they pray, and pray, and pray, and pray, until it rains so as not to discourage believers? What if it rains so hard it floods or there's a tornado? Pretty corny, isn't it?

There is strong evidence that Gov. Eliot Spitzer pulled back on his campaign to allow illegals to get drivers licenses in order to help Hillary's push for the White House. His stand was hurting her campaign! There is also strong evidence that Gov. Spitzer, after the election, will once again push hard for the driver's licenses for illegals. New York residents, be aware, and be ready for another uphill battle. Does this sound like reality to you ????
