What does it mean if God doesn't deliver? Or do they pray, and pray, and pray, and pray, until it rains so as not to discourage believers? What if it rains so hard it floods or there's a tornado? Pretty corny, isn't it?

dinamuk -The natives danced UNTIL it rained. Of course the superstition works if you dance for days until it rains

Our local "Ron & Don Show" on the radio talked about it -- Ron mentioned that after the prayer event, a day or two later it did rain, and that storm injured nine and did a great deal of damage in Tennessee (http://www.11alive.com/news/article_news.aspx?storyid=106488 ).

Don pointed out that we all have access to 5-day forecasts.

Not corny. It makes perfect sense. People thru out history have prayed to their God for rain. Why not now? And yes for those that pray to the Christian God the directive is to pray without ceasing. For those that don't put a religious label on God it is also perfectly normal. What if it doesn't rain? Then it was not in God's will. Very simple and basic. There is no problem in going to a higher power. If this where your spirit and heart lead you.

It already rained, the night they prayed they had over 1 inch of rain, but that is not enough to help, the Corp needs to stop draining the lake for people to fish downstream.

Well I live in Georgia and I have to tell you that it rained buckets( for the first time in a while!) the very next night. Who am I to judge?

We prayed in Hall County and it came a gully washer. This occurred before the Governors prayer.

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (II Chronicles 7:14)

God answers prayer no matter how corny people think it is. Of course you just have to find out for yourself.

Did it rain? At last a leader with a big enough set to stand up for what HE believes in rather then toadying to the likes of you.
Corny? No. Your question, pretty inane, Isn't it?

I believe it was an "invitation" to pray. So what is your problem? Would you deny Gov. Perdue his right to have a prayer session? That's freedom of religion, ya know.
