the two generations after the baby boomers tend to be more toward the center of the political spectrum. Vietnam is the main reason the baby boomers split so far left and right, is that why nothing can seem to get fixed in washington?

Lord I hope so. The greedy *** baby boomers have screwed this country up enough with their dominating left wing nonsense.Retiring at 50, greedy unions and double dipping has destroyed Social Security and left the gen x crowd(me) totally screwed over.

Personally I am some what concerned at the lack of research I see from our new voting group. That's XY I take it the tech boomers? Problem is Reality TV and Faux News. Fast Food gobbling public that do not digest information. Almost just absorb it without question. This does not mean I feel they are all holding out. Many on here ask great questions and do read things that are posted. Minus the rants that take away from the true exchange of ideas & debates. Like the name calling garbage.
I am not sure how this one will play out. Predictions are early, no one has actually really voted yet. But we have been shoved this election season too early and it's anyone's game. Vietnam? I only wish some remembered The Persian Gulf War. And how are brave troops felt and feel now as politician's screw up their safety. Two weeks holiday for
Congress now. No solid funding for the Brave Soldier's?! Nothing without pork & a map to our removal of troops plan for the enemy... real great strategy. Thanks I hope I got close to an answer. My observations anyway. Aloha.

As a member of generation Y I have to say that most of us can't wait to get our hands on Washington. The Baby Boomer era is still not gone but in 20 years it will be.

Only time will tell. I don't think you know enough about baby boomers to make the remark you have. This split you claim came with Bush/Cheney and Rove put it in motion. As I said only time will tell.
