I have often wondered about this. You see T.V. ads re charities and, for instance, a poor child in an African village and they are saying they need a pump so they can get fresh water etc. and use the expression "Third World" which I hate and can't help thinking does it suit the richer countries to always have their "Third Worlds" so that they can treasure their own luck and high living standards and just think where would charities be if their were no Third Worlds and needy people out there?? They would be stuffed. I do worry when you hear stories re corruption in "charitable" organizations and a very small percentage actually ending up where it can help, say, install a pump for a poor village plus also I wonder what if it was people in a wealthy country "installing a pump" for their water supplies - They would keel over backwards with how rural/backward this sounds. I then think about the corruption in say Africa and the types who run the show in some of the countries there. I know the more highly developed nations took loads of valuables out of Africa and you would think that as a whole that land would be better off than it seems today??? So no I can't see the war on poverty being won as some people seem to need that comparison so they can gloat about how well they are doing and poverty (the term) is relative as a person (say on the Dole) in a wealthy land might be considered poor and looked down upon by those surrounding him but would have an enviable life to a starving person from a "Third World" Country.

Poverty will be solved if the politicians stop serving the interests of their party, supporters and their dummy businesses.

I kinda doubt it. That's the real political Vietnam. Politicians have been promising to feed the hungry and have been doing a piss poor job of it since before the depression.
