They voted in this way because the rich are greedy and don't feel they should have to give back to the society that made it possible for them to become wealthy in the first place. Would they have become rich and successful if they were born to a person in China? No. They would be forced to work in a factory for pennies just like everyone else. They OWE society at least 50 percent of their earnings, to allow future generations the same infrastructure that they had to become successful. Or, we will have our bridges falling down around us with no money to fix them. The rich OWE society, and that means all of us collectivly, a debt of gratitude for their opportunities. Just ask Warren Buffet and Bill Gates!
P.S. Eric, please back up your answer, because it sounds and smells like B.S.

1. Since they pay about half of all individual income taxes collected, they are probably more interested in the party that is more likely to keep them from getting mugged by the other 97% of the population.
2. Older people tend to make more money because they've been around long enough to figure out how to add value to society. They've also been around long enough to have observed that the Republican ideals of protecting individual freedom and rewarding those who add value to society is the most effective way of helping everyone.
Also, I would say that it's wrong to say that the most educated are also the smartest.

Maybe cuz Democrates are too busy working 2 jobs to pay the bills and couldn't even GET to the polls. Maybe the problem is that only a Republican can get rich in this country now.

They didn't want their taxes being used to support the half of the population of Mexico which is now in the US.

Because, most who benefit from capitalism opt to support the most extreme forms of it. Of course they pay 80% of the tax burden, as they should. They also reap all of the profit from being so nice and cozy on their corporate ladder, without actually producing any value for society, simply rearranging their capital that was created through the labor of others, usually in the third world.

Because conservative policies are what made them rich. If they had waited for handouts like the left wants everyone to, they'd all be just as poor as we are.

I think it is because that most educated people knew that John Kerry was disingenuous and nothing more than a puppet of his wife who funded his campaign.

because they care more about their money... than ANY OTHER ISSUE... be it other Americans, the good of America or anything else...
of course they tell themselves that "me being rich is best for America and me keeping it all is best for America"... but in the end, it's clearly just rationalization...
why do you think they became so rich? it's very difficult to become that wealthy if wealth isn't important to you...
ask those same people how they feel about NAFTA... you'll see what they are voting with... their pocketbook...
