Depends on how old you are now?... the war against Islamic Jihadist will last as long as that belief system continues to inspire people to rape, murder, and destroy in the name of their god until the world bows down to him. It will last until we exterminate every last one of them... that will take some time... especially with the Useful Idiots in this country impeding us and encouraging them

Terror is not a country or a group one can declare war on.

Terror is a tactic used by some groups and individuals to strike fear and/or destruction upon other groups or individuals.

Also, terrorist tactics are used by a variety of people of different backgrounds and beliefs.

For example, Timothy McVeigh's Oklahoma City bombing of a federal building on April 19, 1995, was a terrorist act, just as the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States was. These two acts were committed by two different types of people, but their goal was the same-----to kill many innocent people.

As long as human beings walk the earth, there will always be those who use terrorist tactics for political, religious, racists, sexist, and many other reasons.

Unfortunately, sin and evil never die so the so called "War On Terror" will never end, as will not the "War On Poverty" or the "War On Drugs."

Maybe we should have a war on ignorance, but that would not be won in our life times either.

War on terror will never end. I am not trying to be funny but it is true, terror is an ideal, a strategy, a way of dealing with something. You can't fight an idea. Its like fighting the color Blue! If you are a history buff, you know that terrorists have been a round an awful long time. They haven't always fallen under the name of terrorists. Look up the definition of a terrorist. Under Bush, everyone of us could be considered a suspected terrorist. Basically all you need is access to a weapon and the motivation to do harm. I personally have seen that on the FBI watch list, over 800'000 Americans are on the suspected list. 1 out of 3 Americans. WOW. Are they doing a lot of Phone tapping!!!! One of their criteria of being on this list is just being a deadbeat dad / parent. Don't take my word for it, check it out. Not in anyone's lifetime, FINAL ANSWER. I can see a war with terrorists, and actually set up a list of names, but in fact, the USA houses, according to statistics, a very high number of terrorist cells. If we contend to wage war against all those who harbor terrorists, is our next step war with ourselves? Shouldn't we clean up our own house before complaining about the neighbors?

Other than real terrorists in the White House which keep terrorising other countries and American people as well there are only an imaginary terrorists are left. Once Bush, Cheney and cronies are out of the White House consider that "War on Terror" is won.

This perpetual "war" was never meant to be won but rather kept continuing to ensure a never-ending flow of profits for corporate interests.

Thus, don't expect it to end in your nor possibly the lives of others in future generations.

Seeing as terrorism is just another form of deviants I wouldn't count on a war on terror ever really ending. There always have been and always will be groups that think they are oppressed and that will lash out. The dominate groups they lash out at are likely to label them as terrorists.

WAKE UP!!. The war on terror, the war on drugs, etc...is just something made up by the government to keep the people in line. As long as they make you think you need them to protect you from the bogeyman they have you right where they want you!!. In the USA you have a better chance of being struck by lightning than killed by a terrorist.

When
the people who came to name it as such
change
its name.
Probably
after the
2008
elections..
It's amazing how so many people fall for terms used by those who seek to control us. There is no War on Terror.
The US coined the phrase and it stuck. Just like a lot of other terms.

in light of the fact that we've been at war with North Korea for over 50 years now, with no sign of an end to it, the end of "the war on terror" doesn't look too promising..
