What would they ask for?

My thoughts:
Democrats would ask for a spine
Republicans would ask for a heart
Libertarians would ask for a voice
Communists would ask for a soul
Socialists would ask to give the other parties an equal and fair gift

Even before 9/11?

Did they never forgive the west for the Crusades? Like BinLaden says, or is it because of their religion?

It gets pretty damn old seeing a puppet for the Democrats find a corrupt Republican and slam them for it. And it gets pretty damn old seeing a puppet for the Republicans for a corrupt Democrat and do the same thing.

NEWSFLASH people....the problem with US polics is not Democrats or Republicans. The problem is Democrats AND Republicans. For every fault you can find with one party another can be found with the other.

Democrats lack any kind of message or vision for America.
Republicans have a message and vision, but create bills that conflict with that vision.

The problem with the Republicans is not that their Republicans. The problem with the Democrats is not that their Democrats. The problem is that they're all politicians. And a politician cares more about getting power and holding onto it than doing something that could risk their power.....like utter a real opinion.

How many people can at least accept this?

The Republicans ... have discovered that it is not necessary to hide your actions. Just lie! It's OK! You can't fool all of the people all of the time, but you don't have to! That's what democracy is all about.

It worked for the war on Iraq. Have you noticed that, these days, the most vocal opponents of the war are retired military officers (and a few not yet retired), retired intelligence operatives and former national security advisers? Have they become traitors overnight? Have they abandoned the cause of freedom? Or are they finally just fed up? We welcome them, while noting that we really could have used their help two years ago.

The Bush response to detailed critiques? "Support the troops." Yes, the administration is supporting the troops by getting them killed in a needless war. Surely people would have put that together. And they have! But it doesn't matter! Now, you want to talk about your crafty conspiracies? Why skulk around with coverups when you can carry out vile plots in the glow of sunlight?

Or because we are rich and powerful?

Is it because their prophet lied to them and told them they would be blessed? So now they want to kill us all?

But when a footballer's wife spends £5,000 on a Prada handbag noone bats an eyelid. Please don't tell me she "earned" that money!!! (unless shagging a footballer is "earning" it)

Doesn't it seem sick that kids are going hungry, pensioners are freezing to death in winter and families are homeless in this country, whilst people like that can p1ss huge sums of money up the wall on pointless trash, and get featured in the papers because of it like they are some sort of hero?

Wayne Rooney's girlfriend being a case in point.

And yet noone gets pissed off about them. I find people like that way more annoying and offensive than the Royals. At least they are part of our history and culture.

U.S. Economy: Trade Deficit Widens to a Record (Update4)

By Joe Richter

Oct. 12 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. trade deficit unexpectedly widened to a record $69.9 billion in August on a jump in imports that pushed the shortfall with China to an all-time high.

The deficit rose 2.7 percent from a $68 billion gap in July, the Commerce Department said in Washington, and exceeded the highest estimate in a Bloomberg News survey of economists. U.S. companies imported more computers, consumer goods and oil even as they shipped a record amount abroad."

When this is included in the mix, this so-called budget decreasewill be wiped out big time.

S.3930, a.k.a. Military Commissions Act of 2006, is the bill that Bush pushed for, that he said over and over was necessary in order to ensure our safety. It includes the controversial interrogation provision. The bill was passed on 9/29 and presented to the president on 10/10. He hasn’t signed it yet. What is he waiting for? If it was so important, why didn’t he sign it the second it came across his desk? For that matter why did it take so long to reach his desk? Typically it’s a couple of days from the time the bill is cleared for the white house to the time it’s presented to the president. In this case it was closer to two weeks. The president only has 10 days to sign a bill once he receives it. Could the congress have been giving Bush more time to find a politically opportune moment to sign the bill? That can’t be true. The republicans all said that this bill was critical to our defense. I can’t believe they would put partisan politics over national security.

Is it raised taxes, constitutional rights granted to terrorists, surrendering in Iraq, or a softer, gentler response to North Korea and Iran?

I'm beyond frustrated with all the political party bashing. Can't we just agree that both parties have bad people in them and both parties have policies we don't all necessarily agree with?

Will we ever be able to banned together as Americans and do what is best for our country despite which side of the fence we're sitting on?

Sometimes I think it's not our emenies with their nuclear weapons that's going to bring about our demise, but the fact that we can't seem to banned together as a nation.

Instead of coming up with solutions we're way to busy playing the blame game. Give a an American with good leadership skills and I'll vote for him regardless of which party he is on. Am I alone?

Kim Jong-IL threatened to get nuclear weapons, and Bill Clinton cowered by sending Kim money for aid, which Kim used for his nuclear weapons program.

Bill Clinton also agreed to build Kim a nuclear reactor. Was that smart?
