Democrats believe it is the role of government to promote social justice.. to provide truly equal opportunity for all.. to correct injustices like prejudice and the exploitation of workers through laws & programs like minimum wage, worker safety & overtime laws, union rights, Affirmative Action, etc., & a governemt safety net that errs on the side of generosity in helping the needy. Repubs believe in minimal government that does not promote social justice or carry out any welfare programs. They think astronomical disparity in distribution of wealth is the "natural order," that all wealth should be acquired/ divided by ruthless, dog-eat-dog competition and greed, that big corporations should pretty much be allowed to run amok, and welfare/ charity should only be given out by private organizations.

"When you looked at the Republicans you saw the scum off the top of business. When you looked at the Democrats you saw the scum off the top of politics. Personally, I prefer business. A businessman will steal from you directly instead of getting the IRS to do it for him. And when Republicans ruin the environment, destroy the supply of affordable housing, and wreck the industrial infrastructure, at least they make a buck off it. The Democrats just do these things for fun."—P.J. O'Rourke

A Republican wants to follow the example of Hitler (though killing Islamists not Jews), hence California electing it's own Austrian Nazi.
Democrats want to follow the example of Mussolini, and be socially benevolent Fascists, no death camps.

It's very simple....
Republicans represent the rich, big business & illegals
Democrats represent welfare people & illegals
Unfortunately, there is NO representation for middle-class Americans.

One wants power, the other one... wants power, too.
One does not respect human life, the other one, doesn't do that either.
Republicans blame democrats, democrats blame republicans.
I don't see any any differences.

Republicans are concerned for the future of our country. Democrats are concerned for the future of their political careers.

You should spend a few minutes looking at the party platforms. This is a very helpful start, and straight from the horse's (or elephant's and asses' mouths to be more precise).
